Hands On Dentistry Session for Advisors & Counselors

The Pre-Health Advising Summit Planning Committee is excited to be partnering with the School of Dentistry for a unique and hands-on workshop for academic advisors and career counselors. We will be hosting an information session covering each degree program the dental school has to offer. Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), Dental Hygiene (BSDH), and Dual Degree in Dental Hygiene & Dental Therapy (BSDH/MDT), plus dentistry activities and a tour of the school!

The View From 20,000 Feet: An Overview of Advising at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities

This session provides advisors new to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities a big-picture look at undergraduate advising on campus. We will discuss the organization of the campus and introduce the key groups and players in undergraduate education. What are the roles and goals of advising? What are some of the key campus resources and tools for advisors? Who are these people or groups that are sending me all kinds of email? When do things happen during the year?

ISSS Intercultural Workshop Series Becoming Aware of Your Own Culture

In this interactive workshop, you will be challenged to uncover aspects of your own culture and how these shape your perception of the world. You will also learn to identify relevant cultural differences between yourself and others, making it easier for you to take actionable steps to create bridges between cultures throughout the University of Minnesota.
