Hands On Dentistry Session for Advisors & Counselors

The Pre-Health Advising Summit Planning Committee is excited to be partnering with the School of Dentistry for a unique and hands-on workshop for academic advisors and career counselors. We will be hosting an information session covering each degree program the dental school has to offer. Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), Dental Hygiene (BSDH), and Dual Degree in Dental Hygiene & Dental Therapy (BSDH/MDT), plus dentistry activities and a tour of the school!

Join us for an interactive, special look into the School of Dentistry.

Activities and a tour of the school will be led by current dentistry students!

Activities include:

  • Plaque attack! (practicing using dental instruments to remove "plaque" from a fake mouth)
  • Tooth impressions (create a stone tooth that you can take home)
  • Mirror tracing (train your brain to get through a maze while looking in a mirror)
  • PLUS: Fun prizes!

This workshop is perfect for academic advisors and career counselors working with students of all major interest areas. The School of Dentistry admits applicants from a myriad of majors, ranging from Biology to Astronomy, Chemistry to Gender & Women’s studies, and Engineering to Art History.

You will have a chance to gain a better understanding of the clinical space, the combination of science and art that our dentistry program fosters and encourages, and obtain the tools to communicate all that our dental school has to offer to your students.

This workshop will host a maximum of 40 people and will fill up fast, so make sure to RSVP soon!
