Advising in This College
Admission to each of the College of Design's undergraduate degree programs requires a competitive admission application and review.
Advising Structure
Students are assigned a professional academic advisor who works with them from orientation to graduation. In certain majors, students will be assigned a faculty advisor in addition to their professional academic advisor. The primary role of the faculty advisor is to advise students on their degree-required internship.
Portfolio Review
Students in the pre-apparel, pre-graphic, and pre-interior majors present their portfolios after completing a series of foundation courses. Each major will have a faculty-led information session about Portfolio Review prior to the review date.
Passing Portfolio Review is a necessary prerequisite for registering for post-Portfolio Review courses. Students who do not pass Portfolio Review on their first attempt have the opportunity to present at one subsequent Portfolio Review after working with faculty to improve their portfolio.
