Advising in This College

Advising Structure

CEHD utilizes a dual advising model. All students, including TRIO Student Support Services (SSS), are assigned an academic advisor that supports them from orientation through graduation. Additionally, once students declare their CEHD major, they receive guidance from a major advisor.

Students participating in TRIO SSS are admitted into CEHD as first-years and assigned a TRIO SSS academic advisor. If TRIO students declare a CEHD major, they stay with their TRIO advisor. If they are admitted to a major in a different college, they are assigned an advisor in their new college.

Transfer Information

Students should attend a scheduled information session to learn more about our majors, understand the application process, and have their questions answered. After this, they need to follow the steps for meeting minimum requirements and prerequisite courses. Students also need to complete the Undergraduate Change of College Form, which will include a couple of short answer questions. Our ICT Coordinator is happy to meet with students to talk about transfer planning. All information can be found on our internal transfer page.

There are limited spaces in TRIO SSS for students who transfer into CEHD. Please reach out to TRIO Assistant Director, Padah Vang or Director, Consuelo Gutierrez-Crosby, if you have questions or would like to recommend a student.
