On behalf of the Advising Initiatives team, we are pleased to invite you to a virtual training focusing on essential needs.
Focusing on Essential Needs: Food, Shelter, and Money
Featuring: Boynton Health, Care Program, and One Stop
What are the basic needs that students have? What factors impact these needs? What story does the data we have tell? This training will focus on some of the most essential needs that our students have: food, shelter, and money. Three campus offices will feature the ways in which they work with students to support these needs. Boynton Health will provide an overview of students’ basic needs and highlight programs such as the Nutritious U Food Pantry and SNAP. One Stop will review the variety of financial aid tools they use with students, such as appeals, revisions, and special circumstances. The Care Program will feature emergency grants, behavioral consultation, and wellbeing resources. After attending this session, participants will be able to more effectively navigate and refer students to essential needs resources.
