ChatGPT: An Overview for Academic Advisors

On behalf of the Advising Initiatives team, we are pleased to invite you to a virtual training focusing on ChatGPT.

ChatGPT: An Overview for Academic Advisors

Facilitated by: Ilene Dawn (Ida) Alexander (CEI); Kate Peterson and Lindsay Matts-Bentson (Libraries); Katie Koopmeiners (OCS)

Description:

ChatGPT is here! What exactly is this AI powered-language? How do you talk to students about it? So much is changing so quickly when it comes to ChatGPT and artificial intelligence. To create some clarity, this training will focus on a current overview of ChatGPT and how students and instructors might be using it. At this session, three campus offices will highlight how ChatGPT has been integrated into their work. The Center for Educational Innovation will feature instructor resources, examples, and guidelines so advisors know what students might expect in the classroom. The Libraries will discuss how they support students in navigating using it (or not). The Office for Community Standards will share how they’re encountering and responding to ChatGPT in their work with students. We encourage you to try out ChatGPT before the session!
