Global Job Search Training & Discussion for Staff | Undergraduate Academic Advising

UMN student services staff are invited to join a virtual training and discussion about supporting students global job search with online tools and resources. This event will occur Friday, November 13th via Zoom from 12pm-1pm CT.

I am planning for this to be an active session where I will facilitate discussion on various tools and resources that we have to support students’ global career search. My hope is that attendees will be willing to share their experiences with these resources in practice, and perspective on what is working well and what we need more information on.

I last held a training on this topic in summer of 2025 with 30+ staff (and previously in 2023)- so you may have attended one of those sessions! This will be both a time to refresh your knowledge and get new updates and ideas on global career programs and possibilities.

The aims of this training include:

Attendees will learn, and/or share experiences, about the resources available to support students global career search
As a collective, developing an understanding of gaps in global career support that can be resolved with the creation of new resources and training, feedback that we can provide to our vendors, and/or increasing outreach about existing helpful tools that we have
