Civil Service and P&A Senates Present: The Realities of Resilience in the Face of Burnout

Presenter: Tai Mendenhall | Ph.D., LMFT | Department of Family Social Science

Department of Family Social Science Professor Dr. Tai Mendenhall will describe how—despite knowing that attention to our own self-care and (inter)personal well-being is essential—practicing what we preach is easier said than done. Drawing from efforts advanced through undergraduate, graduate, and medical residency teaching, clinical practice, and trauma-response teams, Dr. Mendenhall will articulate common symptoms of burnout and compassion fatigue. He will then describe empirically proven strategies that harness our resources across individual, couple/family, and social-systems continua. Participants will receive tangible resources and tools to facilitate biopsychosocial/spiritual health.

All UMN staff are welcome to join this webinar brought to you by the Communications and Outreach Subcommittee of the Civil Service Senate and Professional Development and Recognition Subcommittee of the P&A Senate. A video of the webinar will be available on the Civil Service and P&A Senate websites.
